Set in a tranquil location in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) at Churchstanton in the Blackdown Hills. Close to the Somerset - Devon border, and yet only six miles from Taunton. The Old Pigsty is a detached, single storey Insidebarn converted in 2001. Previously it formed part of the farm buildings when Strawbridges Farm was a working farm. It has been used as self contained holiday accommodation since April 2002 with many satisfied visitors commenting most favourably upon their holiday experiences and the quiet, picturesque location. The cottage has been rated as 4 Stars by the English Tourist Board.

The Old Pigsty offers most attractive studio style accommodation therefore is ideal for couples and dogs are also welcome. Tastefully furnished, very well equipped and with the benefit of its own terrace it makes an ideal base for touring and relaxation. There are some excellent nearby walks (with or without a dog) and riding and golf are available locally. As well as the Blackdowns, the Quantock Hills are 12 miles away. Many visitors have visited Exmoor, the North and South Coasts, Dartmoor and as far afield as the Eden Project in Cornwall. The nearby West Somerset Railway is a very popular attraction.Kitchen Some visitors have decided just to "chill out" in the garden by reading, painting or admiring the large variety of birds around the feeders.

The barn is located in and accessed through the owners' pretty rear garden via seven small steps which lead to the entrance. There is ample space for parking with off-road parking nearby.

The accommodation is on one floor and comprises of a lounge/dining room/kitchen with original beams and a ceramic tiled floor. There are two radiators in the studio. There is a double bed and French doors opening onto the patio area. Inside the shower room there is a double size shower cubicle, a ladder radiator, toilet and hand basin.BBQ

The property benefits from Oil Fired Central Heating with constant hot water (the boiler is always on). All fuel, electricity, bed linen (duvets) and towels are provided. A laundry service is available by arrangement with the owner. Also provided are a TV (with video player), a radio (with CD player), and microwave (in addition to a modern electric cooker). Water is supplied from the owners' fresh water springs. A welcome tray is provided.

The courtyard garden and patio area has its own furniture and BBQ.

The accommodation is strictly non smoking although visitors may smoke outside if they so wish.

The owners are dog friendly and one well behaved pet is welcome, free of charge.

The property is not suitable for children nor for more than 2 adults.
